Cristiano Ronaldo is trending on Twitter in Italy after improbable reports his agent offered him to Juventus and ‘regrets’ the Manchester United move, but fans are thoroughly unconvinced.

The repeat Ballon d’Or winner left last summer in the final hours of the transfer window for a return to Old Trafford.

Despite 24 goals in 38 competitive games for the English club, they still failed to qualify for the Champions League.

This is seemingly behind the claims from Luca Momblano on Juventibus that agent Jorge Mendes has contacted Juventus to offer CR7 back to the Bianconeri.

His contract with Manchester United runs to June 2023 and it’s even suggested in this report that Ronaldo would take a pay cut to make the deal go through.

Juventus fans on social media are mainly mocking the very idea of a CR7 comeback just a year after pushing for the Premier League, although of course Romelu Lukaku is doing the exact same thing with Inter after joining Chelsea.

More than anything, the comments have been a reflection on just how little is happening on the transfer market for Juventus and the lack of new faces for Max Allegri.

They are still waiting to hear if Angel Di Maria will sign on as a free agent, amid competition from Barcelona.

It was Momblano who first mentioned Ronaldo’s links with Juventus in 2018.

  1. As a free agent bring him on, we need to expand the collection of free antiques at Juventus. Will take him back any day any time with Pogba and Di Maria Juve could benefit from an additional 24 goals a season. but dont let him take the free kicks

  2. Please noooooo…
He almost singlehandedly destroy our club the 1st time around (making us worse in every way -deteriorating the club from day 1).

The biggest signing failure in recent history, why would we want to do it again? (so we can be 6th in Serie A?)

  3. It would be a bad idea to bring him back and break the team again before it has even been fixed from the last time.
