There are more worrying stories about the Ultras culture permeating Italian football, as 30 Juventus fans were banned from the stadium for fighting each other, while thugs physically attacked a Serie D player.

The Government had a meeting today with Lega Serie A and FIGC representatives to discuss a clampdown on violent fans following the motorway brawl between Roma and Napoli supporters on Sunday.

Another two stories are in the news today that further pour shame upon some sections of Calcio culture.

It was announced that 30 Daspo orders were imposed on Juventus fans, banning them from any sporting event in Italy from between one and five years, after a fight broke out in the away end of the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino during the derby on October 15, 2022.

This was a battle for control of the Curva at Juventus between different factions of the Ultras groups, formerly known as Drughi, Viking and Nuclei Armati Bianconeri.

Another brawl erupted between these supporters during the Juventus-Inter game on November 6, 2022, when some members were pushed out of the stands and threatened.

In a different story showing how far down the problem goes, a Serie D game at the Stadio Pasquale Novi of Angri was suspended at half-time after home fans broke into the locker room to physically attack a player from visiting team Portici.

Defender Maurizio Maraucci was accused of trying to distract their player during a penalty in the first half, which was then saved by the goalkeeper.

Maraucci was said to be in shock after fleeing the scene, as Ultras were wielding sticks as well as punching and kicking him.
