Juventus’ Chief Football Officer Francesco Calvo insists the Bianconeri ‘do not fear’ ban from European competitions after a 15-point deduction in Serie A.

The Old Lady has been handed a point penalty in the current campaign for financial irregularities, but more could come in the future with the FIGC carrying on a second investigation looking into the so-called ‘salary manoeuvre.’

Multiple sources in Italy claim UEFA could also take action once the investigation in Italy is completed. However, Juventus director Calvo insisted that the Serie A giants don’t expect punishment from the European football governing body.

“We don’t fear that what’s happening in Italy will have consequences in Europe,” Calvo told TV8 ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash against Nantes in Turin.

“We are in constant contact with UEFA and the proceeding in Italy isn’t over yet.”

Calvo went on to talk about Paul Pogba who returned to Juventus on a free transfer last summer but hasn’t yet made his debut in 2022-23 due to a meniscus injury suffered in August, which required surgery the following month.

“He is a long-term investment. We are waiting for him and I am sure he will return soon. Massimiliano Allegri is a reference point in such a difficult season. Our ideas are in line, also regarding the future. It’s a great night of European football and we are happy with the support of our fans. As a team, we’ve always been united.”

The Allianz Stadium is sold out for tonight’s match with Nantes with circa 40,000 fans in the stands.
