Federico Chiesa was among the most pressing topics of discussion during a meeting between the player’s agent and representatives from Juventus in Milan on Thursday evening according to reports.
The Italy international has a contract with the Bianconeri until the summer of 2025, but next season will be the final year of that deal and in order to avoid a situation where Chiesa could leave for free, Juve would reportedly like to agree a renewal as swiftly as possible.
According to reports on page three of Friday’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa also wants to avoid a scenario where he could leave for free.
However, La Gazzetta reports that there is a difference between Juventus and Chiesa’s camp in terms of the desired length of contract, as the former Fiorentina forward is reluctant to sign off on a long-term extension.
As per claims from both La Gazzetta and Calciomercato.com, a one-year extension until the summer of 2026 is still on the cards.
La Gazzetta claims that Chiesa currently earns around €5m per season plus bonuses and would be willing to negotiate an extension on similar terms, however Calciomercato report that his current salary is closer to €6m and that his agent is pushing for an increased wage packet.
