La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Cristiano Giuntoli was at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, watching Juventus target Dávid Hancko score against Manchester City while continuing talks for Joshua Zirkzee and unhappy midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Juventus director Giuntoli used the recent trip to England for a Champions League game against Aston Villa to meet Manchester United and City directors. Gazzetta had already reported that Giuntoli discussed Nicolò Fagioli and Douglas Luiz with the Manchester clubs.
It’s now been reported that Giuntoli even went to Etihad Stadium on Tuesday to watch Manchester City-Feyenoord, watching the Old Lady’s defensive target Hancko score a goal against Pep Guardiola’s side.
GdS: Juventus director scouts defender in Manchester, continues Zirkzee talks
According to Gazzetta, Giuntoli also continued talks with Kia Joorabchian, the agent of Zirkzee and Douglas Luiz.
The Brazilian midfielder is unhappy as he’s struggling with playing time in Turin, so Giuntoli is waiting for offers for him in January.
The Juventus director recently claimed that the Old Lady wouldn’t be looking for a new striker in January, but according to Gazzetta, Zirkzee remains an option, especially because Arek Milik’s long-term fitness remains uncertain.
If United agree to loan out the ex-Bologna star, then Zirkzee will have a chance to reunite with Thiago Motta in Turin in the January transfer window.
