Juventus star Angel Di Maria was subbed off in the second half of their opening Serie A game against Sassuolo with a suspected adductor injury.

The Argentinean star had repeatedly been touching his left adductor before being subbed off after 65 minutes at the Allianz Stadium. He will likely undergo medical examination tomorrow.

Di Maria had broken the deadlock in the first half with a left-foot volley and delivered the assist for Dusan Vlahovic’s second goal.

The former PSG and Manchester United star did look a bit worried while on his way to the bench. He briefly spoke to Max Allegri and a few staff members before sitting in the dug-out.

Juventus were leading 3-0 when El Fideo left the pitch keeping his head down.

Di Maria has joined Juventus this summer after his contract with PSG expired. He has signed a one-year deal at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus face Sampdoria away at Marassi in Serie A matchday 2 next Monday.
