Juventus defender Merih Demiral could reject a move to Atalanta due to Premier League interest in him, according to reports in Italy.

The Turkey international is on loan at La Dea, who have the option to make the deal permanent for €20 million – on top of the €2m loan fee paid.

However, Calciomercato.com report Demiral is having second thoughts about the move, while some at Atalanta consider €20m a little steep.

The report adds that Juve are awaiting Atalanta’s decision, while Demiral’s hesitance is due in part to interest in his services from unnamed Premier League clubs.

Demiral first moved to Serie A when he joined Sassuolo in 2019 and soon established himself as one of the defenders to watch in the league with a string of impressive performances which earned him a move to Juve.

In Turin, however, he struggled to break into the team due to the consistency of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt ahead of him.

After two seasons, he joined Atalanta on loan where he made 42 appearances in all competitions.
