The domino effect is underway, as Juventus reportedly open the door for Atalanta to take Merih Demiral on loan with option to buy, sending Cristian Romero to Tottenham Hotspur, and bringing funds for Manuel Locatelli.

The transfer market is in full swing, as the Serie A season kicks off in under three weeks’ time.

A key development is taking place over the next 48 hours, as Romero is eager to join Tottenham and the proposal has reached €50m plus up to €7m in bonuses.

In turn, Sky Sport Italia now claim Juventus are open to allowing Demiral to join Atalanta on a paid loan with option to buy for a total €25-30m.

The asking price had been €40m, but quite simply they were not going to get that fee, as the 23-year-old barely featured over the last two seasons.

This will give Atalanta the opportunity to give Demiral experience and perhaps make the move permanent.

In turn, the money handed over for the paid loan will give Juventus enough fresh funds to raise their offer for Sassuolo midfielder Locatelli.

That too is a loan with option to buy, but it needs to be increased and an obligation sewn in for Sassuolo to accept.
