Juventus were ready to make a move for Palermo’s Stefano Sorrentino, if Marco Storari had left in the summer transfer window.

The Old Lady was linked with a number of goalkeeping targets this summer, in anticipation of continued rumours linking Storari with a move to Sassuolo.

However, with the Neroverdi going for Andrea Consigli instead, Juve kept hold of their veteran back-up and dropped interest in Palermo’s shot-stopper too, according to his agent.

“Juventus never wanted to split from Storari, a goalkeeper of great confidence who has a specific weight in the dressing room, regardless of his technical qualities,” Alberto Fontana has told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website today.

“Stefano was in the thoughts of the Bianconeri if anything happened with regards this possibility, but to be honest it was never in their mind.

“Sorrentino is a reliable ‘keeper, that’s for sure.”
