Juventus consider Pjanic bid?

Roma’s Miralem Pjanic is the player Max Allegri requested to reinforce Juventus this summer, claims La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Coach signed a contract extension holding him to the Turin giants until June 2018.

It’s widely reported the negotiations were not so much about wages, but rather ensuring the squad was strong enough for a genuine Champions League challenge.

The Coach signed a contract extension holding him to the Turin giants until June 2018.

It’s widely reported the negotiations were not so much about wages, but rather ensuring the squad was strong enough for a genuine Champions League challenge.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player Allegri specifically requested was Roma midfielder Pjanic.

It is extremely unlikely the Giallorossi would want to sell one of their best players to their bitter rivals, but it has long been reported there’s a €38m release clause in his contract.

Even then, Roma would much rather send the Bosnia international abroad to Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City rather than further reinforce a Serie A competitor.

La Gazzetta also suggests Juventus would raise the funds to activate this release clause by opting not to fight Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniards have a buy-back option on the striker worth €30m.
