Multiple sources claim that Juventus are considering Weston McKennie’s reintegration into the first team as the USMNT midfielder may accept a contract extension.

McKennie could soon be reintegrated into Juventus’ first team and even start on the bench in Monday’s first Serie A game against Como.

La Gazzetta dello Sport broke the news on Friday morning and it was later confirmed by other sources such as transfer expert Matteo Moretto.

Juventus consider McKennie’s first team reintegration after meeting with Motta

McKennie is currently training separately from the first-team players, but a recent meeting with Thiago Motta convinced him to consider a contract extension in Turin.

McKennie’s current €2.5m-a-year deal runs out in June 2025, and according to Gazzetta, he demanded a new €4m-a-year contract a few months ago.

Juventus were even more upset when the American midfielder rejected a move to Aston Villa in June, asking for €5m per season.

Nevertheless, the latest meeting with Motta has convinced the midfielder to consider a contract extension with a salary in line with the club’s needs, so he may be soon available again for the Bianconeri.

  1. The guy can play. He is not an every match performer but when he is feeling it he is a rare and creative talent. He is worth the salary allocation.
