Juventus are considering former defender Paolo Montero as their new Primavera coach, according to reports in Italy.

Andrea Bonatti left his post as Juve’s Primavera manager earlier this month and the Bianconeri have yet to make a decision on a replacement.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports the club are considering a move for Montero, who spent nine seasons in Turin as a player.

The move would represent the former Uruguay international’s second managerial spell in Italy, having been in charge at Serie C side Sambenedettese on two separate spells.

Montero has also been manager of Boca Unidos, Colon, Rosario Central and most recently San Lorenzo – all in Argentina.

As a player, he was regarded a tough-tackling defender. He joined Juve in 1996 – after won the Champions League – and was a defeated finalist in the next two editions.

He won the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup as well as Serie A on four occasions.

  1. Finally some balls back in Turin..show them pussies Slownucci and Slownegri how it’s done..Forza Juve!

  2. Montero should join PhD Simone’s team instead where he can perfectionise the ecologically neutral approach of Shanghai Yoga. With the back, down, back, back approach (soon including future Ballon d’Or winner Paul Dybala and his PhD girlfriend) Internazionale could conquer the UEFA Conference League as soon as 2026.

  3. Reading the title, for a split second there I thought Allegri might want him to replace Chiellini.

  4. Useless signing – why are we not getting a proper coach who is attacking minded

Montero is a yes man and nothing else
