According to Sky Sport Italia, Massimiliano Allegri’s future at Juventus is not uncertain, but the club could change part of his coaching staff in 2022-23.

The Old Lady has been eliminated in the Champions League Round of 16 for the third successive season and is currently seven points behind Serie A leaders Milan.

Although the coach has insisted that the Bianconeri’s season has not been disastrous, the club could change part of his coaching staff at the end of the campaign. According to Sky Sport Italia, club directors are considering some changes after their Champions League elimination at the hands of Villarreal, but Allegri’s position is not under scrutiny.

The Italian tactician signed a four-year deal worth €9m per season in the summer, returning to the Allianz Stadium two years after his sacking.

Juventus are still in the race to win the Coppa Italia after beating Fiorentina 1-0 at the Artemio Franchi in the first leg of the semi-finals. Milan and Inter bosses Stefano Pioli and Simone Inzaghi still consider the Bianconeri candidates for the Scudetto, but Allegri has repeatedly said that his team can’t win the title this term.

  1. would be madness to change the coach. this team is in rebuild mode. in the first leg juve had mckennie, locatelli, zakaria and bonucci in the 1st leg. in the 2nd leg juve had rabiot, arthur, locatelli and rugani in the 2nd leg. big difference. juve needs to concentrate on getting a good mercato with 5quality buys. 2cback, 2 midfielders, leftback

  2. disgraceful Allegri…
Pirlo got 2 trophies even minor with a week’s preparation for a season-long, and he got sacked eventually.

then why allegri still stand in the dugout after a disastrous season?
he should get his hair right before coaching another club..
    wtf…

  3. It really is astonishing how much venom there is for pragmatic, tactical coaches. It’s hysterical the way people are reacting. In fact, the venom is similar to Madrid fans who booed Ronaldo.

Yes he should be treated differently to Pirlo and Sarri because, in case you’ve forgotten, the man recently won 5 consecutive Scudettis, 4 consecutive Coppa Italias and reached two UCL finals in the era of Barca-Real domination.

And Allegri was the only manager during that era to knock out both of those teams. He has demonstrated tactical mastery on many occasions.

He has steadied the ship in the league and is working with a very different squad in a rebuilding phase.

And yes, he deserves a bit of slack, considering his achievements.

  4. @Arriva, a big reason Allegri isn’t getting sacked again is the 9m per year salary. Juventus would have to eat it for the duration of the contract. Then, as Serie A Fan said, he deserves a bit of slack considering his achievements. Allegri will definitely be on the bench for another season at least.

  5. @SERIE A FAN: don’t worry about these clowns, I guess they just picked the wrong team to support. If you wanna see attractive football, no problem, go and cheer for Barcelona, Man City or whoever. Juventus always prioritized the results over the attractive style, that’s a fact and it does not started with Allegri. Until the club does not change its philosophy this will remain as is.

People often forget this squad became sh*ttier year by year. It was probably on its peak when Juve lost to Real Madrid in the CL final, then the top qualify players started to leave/retire (Pirlo, Lichtsteiner, Davi Alves, Marchisio, Barzagli, Mandzukic, etc.). Just have a look who came in to replace these players. Ronaldo arrived in the worst possible moment, because that team was not missing a single puzzle piece like him, but should have been rebuilt with young, hungry and talented guns until the team still had a strong core. That was f*cked up, Agnelli rather fired Marotta who was against the signing of Ronaldo. Juve should have picked up the likes of Barella and other promising quality players, but they vote for useless sh*ts like Rabiot, Ramsey, etc.

Allegri did not choose this squad, he tries to achieve the best results and unfortunately this is it. Obviously, losing to Villarreal at home is a big shame, but we all know it was not a 0-3 match, could have ended even 3-0 for us. It hurts, but sh*t happens. It is more important now to finish in top4 and see if we can get rid of the crap players and get good ones during the summer.

  6. @Serie A fan – “He has demonstrated tactical mastery on many occasions.” ok cool he won against some big teams.

    Years ago.

Things changed. Allegri has not. 0-3 against Villareal is the latest proof of that, don’t you see your master get schooled by Emery? too pity you all chosen to think like your master and stay to live your lives in the past.

  7. There is a reason why some great coaches who achieved success went out of business after some time..

    why??

Because they failed to adapt to a constantly evolving game….

football constantly evolves every 5 -10 years and only a flexible wise coach can see those changes and adapt accordingly… allegri with his stubbornness will never learn and he’s not smart enough to embrace the modern game.. the only other bum similar to allegri managing an important club is simone with athletico…

  8. In any sport, a successful coach chooses his tactics with the players at his disposal. Not trying to implement a system on players that do not fit it. It takes time for a player to adapt to a new style of play.

  9. @Serie A fan: “He has demonstrated tactical mastery on many occasions.”

    looool

Is this real? You must be his agent.

  10. More slow ball to come over the next 3 years lol. The die hard PhD fan boys are the best still bragging about their 7/9 world record, part of the hall of shame.

  11. Allegri is a genius and losing to the 7th best club in Spain, but a more successful club (Europa League winners) was a masterstroke. Villarreal have now got Bayern and if Juve had managed to fluke it through, Bayern would win over 2 legs at least 20-0. Think Barca was bad, Juve would have set another record.

  12. Allegri cannot be entirely blamed for the shortcomings of this team. Our transfer campaigns for the last 5 years or so have been littered with failures. Changing coaches now would make little difference to our results.

  13. I can’t believe that u guys think that Allegri getting stuffed in 2 CL finals
and winning scudettos with a Conte built team without any real seria A competition is a success u must be living in cuckoo land he should have won the CL
I’ve lost count how many times he’s tried and failed he’s a failure other coaches are far smarter than him

As mentioned already above football has changed and Allegri has not and never will
Doesn’t matter if this is not his team he has lnherited a good squad it’s his tactics that are useless this Juve should not have lost against Villareal –
0-3 that’s a disgrace for, and making a mockery of italian calcio he should be sacked and take his clueless tactics with him,

Gasperini is a ideal coach for Juve

  14. Allegri is the best strategic coach in Europe despite his boring football style, but he needs quality players at his disposal to compete. Rabiot, Arthur, Ramsey, Sandro, Morata, kean and occasionally performing Dybala are not enough to compete and then comes the injury list of benadeschi, chellini, bonnucci, chiesa

  15. Have come to the conclusion that Juve’s fans aren’t fans at all. Instead, they are a group of haters who fail to give Allegri any credit for his many accomplishments and can’t wait to tee off on him when ever they team doesn’t meet their ridiculous expectations. Where does this arrogance come from? Signing Ramsey, Rabiot and Arthur were huge mistakes. For all his natural talent, Dybala has proven repeatedly that he is soft mentally and physically. Juve’s future centers on Vlahovic, Chiesa, DeLicht and Locatelli. Danillo and Cuadrado can still be useful, but continuing to count on Chiellini and Bonucci as starters is completely flawed. Juve badly needs a LB, at least 2 mids and another forward – Kean is not the answer. As for Allegri, he understand the role better than anyone. Hard to believe another change at the type will do anything but further confuse matters.

  16. Allegri is completely useless. The fact that he said the 0-3 thrashing from an upper mid level club in Spain was actually a good performance sums his up perfectly. If that were a truly big club such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool or any of the other big teams he would be done and dusted.

  17. The problems Juve face run from top to bottom. At their modern best (mid to late 90’s) Juve had good upper management who made smart transfer choices. They had great coaching staff who helped made players stong and incredibly fit, while keeping injuries down – excluding horrible accidnets such as Del Piero’s career changing injury. They had a manage who could get the best out of the players at his disposal, especially those who were not technically the best (just look at the miracles Lippi performed with Ravanelli, Di Livio, Toricelli etc). Most importantly, players had real grinta. Every player fought for the team. Del Piero for example, was one of the most gifted players of all time, but he worked hard, so hard in faact that the club let Baggio go in order to build around him. What Juve miss these days are players with talent and heart. Where are the guys like Moeller, Davids, Nedved, Jugovic? Where are the intelligent players such as Ferarra, Pessotto, Vialli? Where are the guys who might not be the most talented, but work harder that everyone else, such as Deschamps, Tacchinari, Maresca, Toricelli, RavanellI? All we get now is talent with no heart, or heart with no talent. We’ve all seen the infelxable approach Allegri has. It does not work. Pirlo had great ideas, but not the players to realise it. Sarri never had the players either, but was too inflexible in hos apptoach but biased towards attack. The whole system nees changed. In the short term, get the U23 side to Serie B. Give the U23 the same philosphy and play style as the main squad and use it as an in house stepping stone to the main team in the way Ajax does. Get a manager who will make the most of the players he has instead of adhering to a single philosophy. Get a coaching staff who will improve the strength, fitness and condtidion of players without injuring them. Get a GM that will provide the manager with a squad that is coherent, dedicated and strong. And finally, only sign players who will wear their heart on their sleeve. Thi would bring success to any club.
