Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been diagnosed with a lesion to the lateral meniscus in his knee, so will require a visit with a specialist to see if surgery is necessary.

The former Manchester United man limped off with the knee issue during a training session in their Los Angeles pre-season tour.

He did not seem particularly anxious, but tests have now shown there is a lesion to the lateral meniscus in his right knee.

The France international will visit a specialist to see if any surgical treatment is required.

According to Tuttosport, Pogba will need surgery and be out for 30-35 days.

“Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus,” read the club statement.

“In the next few hours he will undergo a specialist orthopedic consultation.

“Therefore, in order to continue treatment, he is not taking part in the trip to Dallas.”

It is not a good start for his return to the Old Lady, having arrived as a free agent from Manchester United.

This means Pogba will not travel with the rest of the squad to Dallas, where they will face Barcelona in a friendly match this evening.

It remains to be seen how long the 29-year-old will be out of action for.

This type of injury usually requires two to three weeks on the sidelines, so he is facing a race against time to be ready for the opening Serie A game of the season.

If the specialists advises surgery, then that will inevitably extend the time off the field to a couple of months.

It prompts Juventus fans to look back over Pogba’s terrible injury record over the last three seasons.

  1. CALMAAA!!!

I kept telling the pantyhose PhD Quack fan girls that it first began with Da Vinci Code Max and now with Tik Tok Paul. He missed 89 games in 6 failed years so how do you think it would go. All other big teams in Europe treated him like Dybala for good reason. Pogba is a genius and smarter than Flimsey. He is already on holiday, £8M a term + £2M bonuses and will now enjoy doing full time Tik Tok. CL success in inevitable and they will be fine. Flimsey is unpacking and they have stellar alternatives lol. Grande J Medical.

    ‘Joke of a club’?

haha. Coming from a Yank, with your errr semi pro teams and non existent national team?

  3. Lets see who the three stooges ( Agnelli, Nedved, and Arrivabene ) try to bring back to the club now.

  4. Good thing we have Fagioli Rovella and Miretti to choose from along with Locatelli, Zakaria, McKennie and whoever else joins before the window ends Paredes maybe, Cheisa will be like a new signing, Di Maria could be useful, a back up to Vlahovic would be nice Zaniolo maybe.

  5. This is all due to the new stupid leg curl exercises they do once a player is undergoing a medical check before securing a transfer. Just watch the videos of Pogba / Vlahovic doing the leg curls and ull understand where what caused the injury.

  6. Well, is anybody really surpriced?
Everybody knows his injury history in the last 3 seasons is beyond terrible (it’s public knowledge), why should it change now?
One can wonder why Juve wanted to sign him?

  7. This is the time to play Fagioli as the advanced playmaker in a 4-2-3-1 formation (Szczesny: Danilo,Bonucci,Bremer,Sandro:Zakaria,
    Locatelli:DiMaria,Fagioli,Chiesa:Vlahovic
NB: Cuadrado replace Chiesa on the right and move Di Maria

  8. This is very unfortunate for a player who wants to revive his career quickly, but 2 months is not a disaster, he is pretty strong player.

  9. Look at y’all hyenas who were waiting for Pogba to get injured so you can throw your paws at his injuries.
Pogba will recover and make you all moan with his performance.
what kind of fans are you guys ? Pathetics

  10. @brian

Do you actually believe that? “ moan with his performance” I believe that’s extremely unlikely

  11. Did we really make a good decision getting Pogba??How many matches did he miss in the last 2 years at United. We got a broken plyer.Need plan B .Zaniolo.Bteer think twice before we sell Rabot, otherwise we might find ourselves with no midfilders.

  12. Now let me guess… Dybala in Roma will play 35 league games plus cup games without any injury? And of course there is also Vlahovic who did not have any serious surgery at Juventus, yet… this season will be fun

  13. @Luigi Katai
    Fit Dybala ? LMAO
the impact of Pogba in his initial four season at Juventus was far stronger than Dybala’s whole Juve career. Dybala got injured in literally every single important UCL game Juve has ever had. and he got sent-off in the one match he didn’t get injured which let to juve eliminating.
    you’re clueless
