Juventus confident Chelsea will match De Ligt’s price tag

According to Tuttosport newspaper, Juventus won’t let Matthijs de Ligt leave for less than €110m and are confident that Chelsea will soon make a similar offer.

The Dutch defender wants to leave Juventus in the summer, as confirmed by the Old Lady’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene on Thursday.

De Ligt has a contract until 2024, but has decided against extending a new deal at the Allianz Stadium and Chelsea are now in talks to secure his services.

Juventus have rejected their first offer of €40m plus Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic and according to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri don’t want to include any player in the deal.

The Serie A giants only want a cash offer for the Dutch defender who has a €120m release clause included in his contract.

The Bianconeri may accept less than that, but according to the report, Juventus are unwilling to sell for less than €110m. The club’s management is confident that Chelsea will soon match the defender’s price tag.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus could negotiate his sale, starting from €90-100m, but neither clubs are in a hurry to reach an agreement. Juventus signed De Ligt from Ajax in an €85.5m deal in 2019.
