Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, on the other hand, suggests the Viola have accepted the basic structure of the switch.

It would be a paid loan for circa €10-12m with obligation to buy for a further €50m, with payment spread out over four annual instalments.

The clubs are therefore now discussing the exact terms of that deal, for example quite how long it would take Juve to pay the full €60m.

Chiesa has already accepted the €5m per year salary package on offer and above all wants to play in Andrea Pirlo’s team.

The Italy international has repeatedly refused to sign a new contract with Fiorentina and the current deal only runs to June 2022.

Juve need to raise the funds for this operation by selling Douglas Costa, Rugani and De Sciglio, with Sami Khedira negotiating an early contract termination.
