Luis Muriel is seemingly on the way out at Atalanta and Juventus are one of the clubs interested in picking him up, reports suggest.
Tuttomercatoweb details how the 31-year-old Colombian striker’s contract expires with the Bergamo outfit in the summer of 2024, having quietly signed a one-year extension some time ago. The player currently has no intention of putting pen to paper on a new deal, however, being unhappy with the reduced number of minutes this season.
With less than two years left on his current deal, Atalanta will try to agree a new contract with Muriel, but failing that they’d be willing to sell the 31-year-old next summer.
In the recent summer transfer window, Inter, Roma and Juventus were all interested in picking up Muriel, but none were willing to pay his €15m price tag. The Bianconeri are still keen on the Colombian and could return for him next summer, should a new deal not be signed.
These clubs lack common sense. Won’t pay 15M for someone who will score 10 goals in a season (at least) but have no issues spending 40m plus on younger unproven players. Return on investment is high for a player like Muriel even if you don’t sell him for anything down the line.
Muriel is great player, id go for him in the winter market if they can move kean
I love Muriel. He should’ve been our signing instead of Kean.
Agree with everyone here, Muriel has been one of my favourite players for a while and I’m surprised a ‘big’ club hasn’t come in for him. It obviously didn’t work out in Sevilla but that can happen
