According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus are ready to go all-in for Fiorentina winger Nico Gonzalez, preferring him to FC Porto option Galeno.

The Bianconeri are seeking a new versatile wide attacker to replace Federico Chiesa, who has been told in no uncertain terms that he is not part of the squad and must find a new club this summer.

There were a couple of strong candidates for the role, both open to making the move to Turin.

Now Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Juve have decided to focus on Argentina international Nico Gonzalez, leaving behind Galeno as only an alternative.

Nico Gonzalez gets nod rather than Galeno

It could be another snub to Atalanta, who are also in the running for the €30m-rated star man.

La Dea are absolutely furious with Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli for agreeing personal terms with Teun Koopmeiners and pushing him to back out of training because he only wants this transfer.

Fighting them for Nico Gonzalez will therefore not help the tension between the two clubs.

The 26-year-old was signed from VfB Stuttgart for €24.5m plus add-ons and had a difficult season due to injury problems.

  1. Atalanta need to learn how mercato works. All depends on the players (and money too) which clubs they want to sign for, and as long as no legal papers signed, any players are still able negotiating with other clubs with better, more suitable offers. THEY ONLY HAVE 2 TROPHIES IN THEIR CABINET YET THEY’VE BEEN ACTING LIKE A GIANT CLUB. Pathetic !!
