Igor Tudor has been repeatedly mentioned as one of the prime candidates to take over at Juventus and he is now a free agent after announcing his departure from Olympique Marseille.

Max Allegri’s future on the Bianconeri bench remains up in the air as we go into the final match of the season against Udinese on Sunday evening.

Among the options to replace him in Turin, Tudor has been the most natural choice and today the Croatian freed himself up to take the job.

“I am leaving due to both private and professional reasons. I have no agreements with any other clubs, I have not had an argument with anyone and I am not going because I didn’t feel supported. Quite the opposite,” said Tudor in a press conference.

The 45-year-old only took the job in Marseille in July 2022, after leaving Hellas Verona, and steered his team to third place in Ligue 1.

Tudor was at Juventus first as a player from 1998 to January 2005, then returning as assistant manager to Andrea Pirlo in the 2020-21 campaign.

That was considered a step back in his career, considering before that Tudor had been the head coach for Hajduk Split, PAK Salonika, Karabukspor, Galatasaray and Udinese.
