Juventus will alter their strategy with their change in management, not wanting to make the same mistakes as they have over the past three years.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the club are concerned about the amount invested in the transfer market in recent years, considering the lack of true sporting success. The team haven’t won the Scudetto since the 2019-20 season and don’t look set to retake the title this campaign.

Around €425m has been invested into Juventus’ squad over the last three years, a huge sum considering the lack of titles in this period.

From the €72m valuation of Arthur in the exchange with Miralem Pjanic and the €81m spent on Dusan Vlahovic, to the €60m spent on Federico Chiesa and the €55m total on Gleison Bremer. Even cheaper players, like Alvaro Morata, Weston McKennie and Manuel Locatelli can’t be forgotten.

The new board of directors are set to impose a key change of direction for the club, looking to reduce the deficit and push for a sustainable budget. The goal now will be to pick up young and prospective talents, making the most of the money spent on the Under-23 team.
