Juventus have penned a long letter announcing the departure of Juan Cuadrado, thanking him for ‘eight unforgettable years’ at the club.

The Colombian veteran is leaving the Bianconeri when his contract expires tomorrow, ending an eight-year spell at the club.

Cuadrado initially joined Juventus in August 2015 from Chelsea, spending two years on loan before making a definitive transfer for €20m in 2017.

He made 314 appearances across all competitions for Juventus over the last eight years, scoring 26 goals and providing 65 assists.

The Colombian winger won a long list of honours in Turin, including five Scudetti and four Coppa Italia titles.

Reports over the last few months highlighted the club’s uncertainty regarding a new deal for Cuadrado, but they ultimately decided not to move forward with the 35-year-old, who’ll now have to find a new home.

Juventus thanked Cuadrado for his service and remembered his contributions over the last eight years in a long letter posted today.

“314 times he turned out on the pitch to fight for our colours, winning 11 trophies.

“26 times he rejoiced, with his unmistakable dance, after scoring in our shirt.

“59 times he who set up his teammates so they could share the joy of scoring.

“Today, after an eight-season journey, it is time to say goodbye because Juan Cuadrado is leaving Juventus.

“Eight unforgettable years. Year after year, Panita was one of the certainties, no matter the position, tactical set-up or shirt number on his back.

“Eight years full of joy, smiles, jokes and enthusiasm. He brought his positive energy into the dressing room and into our world. Juan won over the fans in a unique and special way, becoming a point of reference on and off the pitch.

“Eight years of dizzying dribbles, crazy runs that turned games around – sometimes even seasons. That goal in the Derby della Mole on 31 October 2015, his first for black and white, was the one that kick-started a comeback that led to the Scudetto after a faltering start.

“Eight years of goals. The one mentioned above was the first of the four scored against Torino but how can we not recall the screamers against Lyon and Inter? Or the key brace he bagged against the Nerazzurri in season 2020/21?

“With so many unforgettable moments, each fan must have special memory linked to Juan’s adventure at the Bianconeri.

“Also this year his contribution was significant, appearing in 47 matches, which allowed him to surpass the 300-appearance landmark in black and white.

“A milestone that established his place even more in club history. If ever there was an example when numbers tell only a fraction of the story, then this is it. The emotion he stirred inside all of us will remain indelible.

“Thanks for everything Panita!”
