The reports about Juventus chasing Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman will not die down, as the offer has reportedly reached €40m.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Mediaset Premium, the Bianconeri are prepared to step up their proposal for the Dutchman.

He has a €45m release clause in his contract and so far Juve have not reached that figure, but they are getting very close, if the latest rumours are to be believed.

Although the Turin giants have signed Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain for €20m plus €10m in bonuses, Coach Max Allegri wants another midfield reinforcement.

Strootman is the idea candidate and considerably cheaper than Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic.

It is possible Juventus could include Juan Cuadrado to sweeten the deal, as Roma director Monchi confirmed interest in the Colombia international last week.
