La Gazzetta Dello Sport insists Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is the leading candidate to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus in 2023, with the Italian tactician tempted to return to Turin.

The Bianconeri are facing another tough start to the season, being 10 points below Serie A leaders Napoli and out of the Champions League group phase for the first time since 2013-14 when Conte was in charge.

President Andrea Agnelli confirmed his trust in Allegri last month, saying that he will assess the season in June.

Allegri has a contract until 2025, but according to Gazzetta, Bianconeri directors are starting to think that the 55-year-old is not the right man to begin a new winning cycle.

Therefore, they would consider Conte’s return to the club if Allegri completes another trophyless season.

Conte’s contract in North London expires in the summer and according to the report, he has yet to sit down with Tottenham directors to discuss a new deal because he is aware that there could be a chance to return to Juventus at the end of the season.

Conte has recently labelled ‘disrespectful’ reports linking him with a return to Juventus, but also said that he will discuss a new deal with Tottenham ‘at the right time.’

According to Gazzetta, he has fixed his relationship with president Andrea Agnelli after leaving the club one day into the 2014-15 pre-season.

  1. all the teams coached by conte they never gave a good performance in champions league, conte is only good for local league

  2. Conte is a mediocre coach who always has to spend millions to make a team……they should take one who makes players better…..

  3. Why would anyone hire him? He never stays and always complains about transfers. Find a loyal person who will stay the course.

  4. Overrated ‘league’ coach. He is thoroughly incapable of doing anything in Europe. Looks way out of depth.

  5. Same old story… Promise him everything he needs to get him to come back, then tie his hands behind his back and expect miracles. Winning Strategy.

  6. I bet after Conte leaves Agnelli will go after Sarri, then Pirlo will be next, then back to Allegri, then Conte, then Sarri, then Pirlo, then Allegri, then Conte, then…………………………………………………………………..
