Andrea Barzagli won’t join Massimiliano Allegri’s staff at Juventus and will reportedly begin a career as a TV pundit.

The former Italy centre-back was tipped to join his former coach at the Continassa, but according to multiple reports in Italy, he has decided against returning to his ex-club, becoming a TV pundit instead.

However, the 40-year-old’s decision may not be a permanent one given that this past September he began a coaching course in Coverciano to get his UEFA A coaching badges.

Barzagli had joined Maurizio Sarri’s staff at Juventus in 2019.

However, his spell as one of the Tuscan’s coach assistants only lasted a few months, as the 2006 Italy World Cup winner did not return to the club when the season was resumed after the COVID pandemic.

Barzagli joined Juventus from Wolfsburg in 2011 and retired in 2019 after winning eight Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia and four Italian Super Cups in a Bianconeri shirt.
