Juventus may have to do without Leonardo Bonucci for their second match of the season against Sampdoria, suggest reports this evening.

The 35-year-old Italian centre back played the full 90 minutes of the Bianconeri’s season opener against Sassuolo, partnering up with new signing Gleison Bremer. Bonucci is an experienced and important player in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, displaying key leadership skills on the pitch.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Bonucci suffered a flexor strain after Juventus’ 3-0 win over Sassuolo last week and he’s now at risk of missing the upcoming match against Sampdoria.

Should he be ruled out for the clash, he’ll join the list of injured players which also includes Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria.

Allegri may be forced to deploy either Federico Gatti or Daniele Rugani alongside Bremer for the match, which would be the former’s debut for the Old Lady.

Bonucci missed 11 games through injury last campaign, suffering from both calf issues and general muscle complaints.

  1. That means PhD Max will have to deploy a 11-0-0 and time for operation barricade.

  2. 88 minutes of grinding out the fabled 0-0. PhD Max will sure make Bremer do triple overtime.
