Juventus ask PSG for Paredes-Rabiot swap

Reports in Argentina claim that Juventus have formally opened negotiations with PSG over Leandro Paredes, which could see Adrien Rabiot go the other way.

The midfielder has long been on their radar and the arrival of Angel Di Maria, his great friend, fellow countryman and former Paris Saint-Germain teammate, makes it even more likely he will head towards Turin.

According to TyC Sports, the Old Lady made a formal approach to the Ligue 1 giants to begin talks.

They are getting ahead of themselves, because a move cannot be made until Juve have shaken off some of their unwanted players.

Those are Aaron Ramsey, who is still holding out for a €4m pay-off to tear up his contract a year early, Arthur Melo and Rabiot.

There could be a union of intents when it comes to Rabiot, amid reports his mother and agent Veronique is trying to work out a return to PSG.

The 27-year-old is under contract with Juve until June 2023, having left the Parisians as a free agent in 2019.

Paredes is 28 and his contract runs to 2024, but they could still potentially enact a straight swap.
