Maurizio Arrivabene has high expectations for Juventus in their away match against Monza this afternoon.

The Bianconeri cannot afford to drop points to the newly promoted side after their recent struggles; the team have only secured two wins from their opening six games and Champions League losses to Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica have started to mount pressure on coach Massimiliano Allegri, who risks being fined for an unauthorised ‘chat’ with journalist Mario Sconcerti.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of kickoff, Arrivabene was clear with his expectations for today’s match between Monza and Juventus.

“I expect a reaction from Juventus, but then I wouldn’t call it a reaction. From Juventus I expect action.

“Every match has its own history, every match you have to wear the shirt you wear with dignity.”

Arrivabene also commented on the possibility of dismissing Allegri.

“Changing technical guidance would be absolutely madness. Today the problems must be seen in 360 degrees. We have come out of difficult years that have taken their toll, not only in football. Making summary trials does not help a club like Juventus to work on discipline.

“Max doesn’t just have a contract, he has a programme to develop over four years. Just as I have a programme. And if there is a culprit to look for then that culprit is me. Because the CEO is at the top of the company and it’s up to me to make it work.

“We need humility, clarity and determination. We have problems, accusing one person and them alone will not solve anything. We have to work together and look ahead.”

Whilst Juventus have struggled this season, it’s hard to imagine the team dismissing Allegri just yet due to his contractual situation. The Italian coach is tied to the club until 2025 and earns around €9m per season, so dismissal would not come cheap.

Despite this, the fans are starting to grow increasingly unhappy with the work being done in Turin and changes could be on the horizon in the coming months.
