Resignations of Juventus‘ board members have been echoed everywhere around the globe and opposing fans react on social media, mostly hoping to see the Bianconeri relegated again.

President Andrea Agnelli, vice president Pavel Nedved and the other eight members of Juventus’ board suddenly announced their resignation on Monday evening.

The shareholders’ meeting has been confirmed for December 27, while the next board of directors meeting will take place on January 18, 2023. Maurizio Scanavino has been appointed as their new CEO, while Exor, the company that holds a controlling stake in the club, have indicated Gianluca Ferrero as the heir to Agnelli.

WHO ARE JUVENTUS’ NEW PRESIDENT AND CEO?

The sudden twist may remember 2006 when the Bianconeri were relegated to Serie B following the famous match match-fixing scandal, also known as Calciopoli and many opposing fans hope to see the same outcome this time.

However, the Bianconeri were cleared of allegations in the sporting trial for inflated transfer values this past April and it remains to be seen if a new sporting inquiry will take place now, bearing in mind that Juventus only risk being dropped to Italy’s second division if their alleged wrongdoing allowed them to register for the Serie A campaign.
