There are conflicting reports over the fate of Juventus-owned Mohamed Ihattaren, who was loaned to Sampdoria, but is now allegedly refusing to come back to Italy.

The 19-year-old creative midfielder has already been called up to the senior Netherlands squad, after two goals in 10 caps at Under-19 level.

Juve snapped him up from PSV Eindhoven on transfer deadline day for under €2m, immediately sending him out on loan to Sampdoria.

However, Ihattaren is yet to play a single minute of football and has been in the Netherlands since October 12 due to ‘family matters.’

La Gazzetta dello Sport points out that Ihattaren has not been spotted anywhere near the Utrechtse Vecht area, which is where his family lives.

It is not clear where the player has gone to and there are suggestions he is refusing to return to Italy.

Sampdoria medical staff were unimpressed with Ihattaren upon his arrival from Juve, with rumours he was 5kg overweight.

There are reports in the Netherlands that the player is looking at a change of agent from current representative Mino Raiola.

  1. A Prima Donna before he has played a minute of football. No doubt Raiola will blame the teams and claim he is a super player….who needs his contract renoegotiated.

  2. When I was doing my YTS at Charlton, we used to get kids turning up 5+ KG overweight just post the Xmas break. 16 and 17 year olds….I don’t even know how its possible to put on so much weight over a short period.

If the reports are true and he did turn up overweight, then there’s clearly a professionalism issue. At 19 and being a pro, being overweight is just unforgivable.

  3. @Donato

If you read the article properly, you’d know the player wants to CHANGE agents, not keep the fat leech Raiola.

I don’t condone the player’s attitude, but you need to learn to read better.
