According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Newcastle United and Juventus are interested in Ivan Perisic, but the Inter star wants to play Champions League football next season.

The Croatia international sees his contract expire at the end of the season and is unhappy with how negotiations have unfolded. The former Bayern Munich loanee believes the Serie A giants waited too long before making their proposal.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s offer has been on the table for several weeks. The Nerazzurri want to extend Perisic’s contract by two more seasons, offering him a €4.5m deal.

Perisic ‘always believed’ but blasts Inter over contract delays

Perisic, on the other hand, wants a new €6m-a-year contract and the two parties will meet again after the game against Cagliari on Sunday.

Newcastle United are the only club that have matched Perisic’s requests s far, but the Croat wants to play Champions League football next season, so he doesn’t seem convinced about joining the Magpies.

Juventus are also interested and could offer him a chance to play in Europe’s elite competition for two more seasons. The Bianconeri are considering making an offer to sign him as a free agent.

The Bianconeri will see Paulo Dybala leave at the end of his contract in June and Federico Bernardeschi could do the same as he hasn’t yet reached an agreement to extend his stay at the Allianz Stadium.
