Ronald Koeman

Samuel Umtiti could terminate his contract with Barcelona by mutual consent, in which case Juventus and Milan are ready to swoop, claim reports in Spain.

According to Diario Gol, the defender’s situation is continuing to cause tension within the Blaugrana camp.

He was signed from Olympique Lyonnais for €25m in 2016 and is still under contract until June 2023, but received no playing time at all this season.

Umtiti is not in coach Ronald Koeman’s plans and attempts to sell him over the summer failed.

This could potentially prompt a radical approach from Barcelona, who are negotiating to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

It would allow the club to get rid of his excessive wages and the defender to find himself a new club as a free agent.

Juventus and Milan were already linked over the summer and could be in for Umtiti again.

Born in Cameroon, but a France international, Umtiti will turn 28 next month.

  1. Umtiti is a bad defender. Stay away from Milan. Tomori is 10x the defender of Umtiti and to complement Tomori Gabbia or renewing Romagnoli would be best, not Umtiti.

  2. Another cast-off arriving in Serie A if this were to happen. Luckily, most of these transfer stories are purely made up.

  3. Juventus will defintely take him especially on a free transfer and reward his injury prone body a whopping £10 million a year. He can also give advice to Aaron Flimsay on how to earn free money whilst on holiday.

  4. @El Cid. Lol. And then they’ll pay 60mm for Donnarumma from P$G, and pay him 14mm per year, and buy Vlahovic for 60mm (not worth that much) and then cry about not being able to form a “super league” to be able to cover their ballooning debts.
