Manchester United suffered a 4-0 defeat away at Brentford sparking thousands of social media comments on Adrien Rabiot’s potentially joining the Red Devils.

The France international is on his way out of Juventus after the Old Lady agreed a fee to send the ex-PSG star to Old Trafford.

Negotiations between the Premier League side and Rabiot’s mum and agent Veronique are ongoing, but the two parties haven’t yet reached an agreement. There will be a new virtual meeting next week after Man Utd director John Murtough met Juventus and Veronique Rabiot in Turin earlier this week.

Most Juventus fans hope the Frenchman will eventually join the Old Trafford outfit, given his hot and cold performances during his three-year spell at the Allianz Stadium. Rabiot is also one of Juventus’ highest earners, with a €7m-a-year salary.

Some Juventus supporters even commented on United’s official Twitter account today, pushing the Red Devils to close the deal. Somebody suggested also getting Alex Sandro, another disappointing performer in Turin over the last couple of seasons.

On the other hand, Manchester United fans seem pretty desperate to get any new signing to improve the team’s performances and results. The Red Devils lost their opening Premier League match against Brighton last week and were embarrassed by Brentford today, suffering a 4-0 loss.
