Barcelona are pushing to sell Ousmane Dembele in January as the France winger doesn’t want to extend with the Catalans: ‘He has to go now.’

Dembélé has not been included in the squad list for the match against Athletic Club and Barcelona’s director of football Mateu Alemany has urged the winger to leave the club in January.

“We’ve been in talks with his agent since July, but the player and his agent rejected all offers,” he said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“It’s clear that he doesn’t want to continue with Barcelona, so we’ve told his agent that he must leave immediately and we hope he does so by January 31.”

Juventus have been heavily linked with the former Borussia Dortmund winger, with Sport.es claiming in December that the Bianconeri had reached an agreement in principle with the 24-year-old.

However, Juventus have a tight transfer budget for January and can’t afford to sign Dembélé in the winter transfer window.

Although The Old Lady has been monitoring the 24-year-old, sources have told Football Italia that an agreement between the Frenchman and the Serie A giants is not in place yet.

A move to the Premier League is more likely, especially if Dembélé leaves in January.

The 24-year-old was close to joining Manchester United in 2020, but Chelsea and Liverpool have also been linked with the France international.

  1. He ain’t worth the salary he is on at Barcelona. Only teams in the Premier league are stupid enough to pay him them amounts. Would only pay him no more than 2/3 million a year and that’s excessive for an inconsistent, overated waste of space.

  2. juBentus seem to be hungry for another sub-performing injury prone player..

    Can they still afford it?
