Juventus and Borussia Monchengladbach have agreed the details of the deal that will see Denis Zakaria move to Turin.
The 25-year-old Swiss midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Bianconeri for a number of weeks now and the Turin side are keen to secure his signature this month, six months before his contract expires with the Bundesliga side. They want to avoid a possible bidding war in the summer and aren’t keen to let the opportunity pass by.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have agreed a €5m deal with Borussia Monchengladbach for Zakaria, not including add-ons. Whilst the figure is low, it does prevent the German side from losing him on a free transfer in June, when he’ll become a free agent.
The Swiss midfielder is set to receive a four-and-a-half year contract worth €3m net per season. Coach Massimiliano Allegri gave the green light to the deal; he was happy with the squad currently available to him but is also happy to receive a reinforcement.
The deal for Zakaria will be finalised once Dejan Kulusevski’s move to Tottenham has been completed. He’s set to join the Lillywhites on a loan deal with a €40m obligation to buy clause attached, and Rodrigo Bentancur is also linked with a move to the North London outfit. Zakaria is expected to arrive regardless of whether the Uruguayan midfielder moves to Spurs or not, however.
