Juventus and Barcelona couldn’t reschedule friendly because of Taylor Swift’s concerts

Reports in Italy claim that Juventus and Barcelona could not reschedule their friendly meeting at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara also due to Taylor Swift’s concerts in the same venue next week.

The Bianconeri and the Catalans were supposed to meet in a friendly encounter last night, but Barcelona cancelled the game hours before kick-off due to viral gastroenteritis among a significant part of their squad.

Tuttomercatoweb and JuventusNews24 claim Barcelona immediately tried to reschedule the meeting despite a strict schedule for them and Juve. However, two possible dates, July 28 and 29, had already been taken for two Taylor Swift concerts.

Therefore, the game won’t be played, meaning Juventus will only meet Milan and Real Madrid during their pre-season tournée in the USA. According to TMW, Juve and Barça have missed out on circa €2m from ticket revenues.

Juventus will face their Serie A rivals on July 28 at 4:30 CEST at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Los Angeles County and Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid on August 3 at 1:30 CEST at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
