Reports are growing that Juventus have offered Arthur Melo back to Barcelona, so in theory Miralem Pjanic could return to Turin and undo the disastrous swap deal.

The players exchanged places in September 2020 in a move that made absolutely nobody happy in the long run.

Pjanic was sold to Barcelona at a value of €60m plus €16m cash plus bonuses to reach the €82m valuation given to Arthur.

Both midfielders failed to make an impact at their new clubs and struggled badly with confidence, ending up on the bench.

Pjanic was sent out on loan to Besiktas in the 2021-22 campaign, while Juve tried and failed to sell Arthur to Arsenal in January.

Fearing they might be stuck with the Brazilian, reports are growing on Tuttomercatoweb and Barcelona transfer specialist Reshad Rahman that Arthur was offered back to the Blaugrana.

In order to lower the costs of the operation and get a ready-made replacement, it’s entirely possible Barca could propose Pjanic as part of the deal, effectively undoing the original transfer.

While Max Allegri has always been a fan of Pjanic, new Barcelona boss Xavi is an admirer of Arthur.

  1. PhD Max is sure bringing back the good old days. Montero better find his old pair of boots as he will be needed to fill the void in defence. He could teach Bonucci a thing or two about concentration. Better still Vidal needs a new club and he is still young enough for Sun Tzu Max. What a joke of a club since Marotta left. CL incoming by 4027. All they can do is bring back former players, has beens, freebies, under sell, over pay and give out lifetime salaries that can never be terminated with ease. Flimsey is a great business man in all honesty.

  2. god no, I’d rather have Arthur sit on bench until his contract runs out than see lethargic Pjanic put us to sleep once again

  3. we dont need pjanic back – he’s very average now – not lighting up the turkish league. Barca wont wont arthur back either.

Imo we need one of these – Kovacic / palhinha Goncalves / Jorginho / Gundogan / Mathues Nunes / Vitinha / Ruben Neves

  4. o yeh forgot to add get tolisso for the bench as he’s a free – contract expired – left bayern munich

  5. lol Mohammed this is not fifa. In an ideal world I would like even better players to arrive. The truth is Serie a cannot get the best players. It is no secret players go where they are going to earn the most, even is that means going to places in England that rains all day.

  6. How about we first sell Alex Sandro, Arthur, Rabiot and then think who to bring in next. Isco would be a better option then Pjanic and thats as a backup.

  7. That would be epic, but the yellow press overdid this one. Definitely the last thing to happen if Arthur leaves

  8. I’m an Inter fan but man, the Inter-Chelsea Lukaku deal, and now the Juventus/Barca Arthur/Pjanic deal… This stuff should be investigated to see if it wasn’t just elaborate FFP avoidance measures…

Just like Milan‘s last 3 or 4 wins in Serie A this season need to be investigated.

The ridiculous Radu error, Terracciano giving Leao a goal, Acerbi laughing after making a brutal mistake, to gift Milan the winner…

  9. @ LUIGI

I felt sorry for you reading that comment. That was pathetic and you need to move on from the lost Scudetto buddy.

  10. Juventus is far off the other Seria A rivals not to mention the rest of Europe. The current management may be our problem. Nedved of all is watching us prepare badly after two bad seasons? God will strike you all
