New Juventus signings Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba will remain out of action for several weeks, so Max Allegri will likely rely on Filip Kostic against Sampdoria on Monday.

The Serbia international has joined the Bianconeri on a permanent deal from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and made his debut coming off the bench in a 3-0 win over Sassuolo on Monday night.

The 29-year-old is tipped to start his first Serie A game next Monday when Juventus face Sampdoria at the Stadio Ferraris.

Injuries to Pogba and Di Maria will prevent Allegri from playing any other new signing in attack and midfield. The France midfielder sustained an injury during the pre-season and won’t be back before three weeks.

Di Maria scored and assisted in Juventus’ victory over Sassuolo but was then subbed off with an adductor injury and could remain out of action for a month.

According to today’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, Allegri could pick a 4-3-3 formation against the Blucerchiati on Monday with Kostic, Dusan Vlahovic and Juan Cuadrado in attack.

The other option is a 4-4-2 formation with Kostic and Cuadrado on the flanks, Vlahovic and Moise Kean in attack.

Tomorrow, Kostic will hold his unveiling press conference as a new Juventus player.

  1. Kulu disappeared in the Chelsea game. Bentancur also had a bad game. They r not good enough, to say the least. They r same as Morrata, top performance without being pressed. But…

  2. CALMAAA!!!

Kulu is now doing bigger and better things with Conte and Spuds. Even Bentancur looks reborn and now puts the right boot on the right foot. Under PhD Max and the 7/9 minnows, they could not thrive as they were being instructed to do the back, back, down, down.
