Juventus’ Allegri receives touchline ban for Coppa Italia final red card

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has received a one-match touchline ban and a €10,000 fine following his red card during the 4-2 Coppa Italia final defeat to Inter.

During extra-time, Allegri was sent to the stands following a furious reaction and later claimed someone from the Inter bench had kicked him.

He will miss Juve’s home clash with Lazio on Monday but will be back for the final-day meeting with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The news caps of a bitterly disappointing evening for Juve, who were 2-1 ahead with 10 minutes remaining of the match before losing 4-2 after extra-time.

Juve conceded two penalties in their defeat to Inter – the first of which was described as ‘like playing PlayStation’ by former Serie A referee Luca Marelli.

Inter, 3-2 ahead at the time, were awarded a second penalty with eight minutes of extra-time remaining.

Juve are guaranteed to finish in the top four and could yet finish third if they win their last two matches and Napoli lose theirs.
