Juventus: Allegri pushes for Paredes as Monaco open Zakaria talks

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Monaco have opened talks for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria while Max Allegri is pushing to get Leandro Paredes from PSG.

The Argentinean midfielder is the Old Lady’s No.1 target in the middle of the park as Allegri is looking for a deep-lying playmaker for 2022-23. However, Juventus must sell at least one of their midfielders to make room for the ex-Roma and Empoli man.

Adrien Rabiot snubbed a move to Manchester United while Arthur could leave on loan, but his €5m-a-year salary (plus add-ons) makes him unaffordable for most of his suitors, including Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia.

According to Gazzetta, Juventus could get the money they need to sign Paredes from the sale of Zakaria. The Swiss international has attracted the interest of Monaco, who have reportedly opened talks with Juventus.

The Swiss international moved to Turin in a €4.5m deal in January and the Old Lady hopes to sell for €15-20. Zakaria started in Juventus’ Serie A opener against Sassuolo this past Monday and has collected 14 appearances in Turin.

The Bianconeri face Sampdoria tomorrow night in the second Serie A game of the season.
