Massimiliano Allegri doesn’t only see Arek Milik as a back-up for Dusan Vlahovic but believes the two strikers could play together and suggests the newcomer could even start against Roma tomorrow.

Juventus have confirmed the signing of the former Napoli striker, who has joined the club on loan with an option to buy from Marseille.

The Old Lady needed a new striker after the end of Alvaro Morata’s two-year loan spell in Turin and went for the ex-Napoli striker, who managed 48 goals in 122 appearances with the Partenopei.

“Only the results will tell if this is a better squad [than last season],” Allegri said at a press conference today.

“Now we must focus on the game, I am really happy about Milik. We made an important choice, he has astonishing figures and is a player who will strengthen the attack,” the coach continued.

“He likes to drop back to receive the ball, so I think he could also play with Vlahovic. We must wait for final bureaucratic authorization, which I hope will be here today, so he will be available tomorrow.”

Allegri revealed that the 28-year-old could even start against Roma tomorrow.

“I haven’t decided on the line-up yet so, who knows, he could play from the start. I had an idea when I entered the dressing room…Let’s see, for sure, 11 will play otherwise, they’ll ban us.”

Milik may not be Juventus’ final summer signing as the Old Lady is also in advanced talks with PSG to get Leandro Paredes on loan.

“We need to finish higher in the table to be better. Leandro Paredes hasn’t arrived yet, I don’t know if he will,” warned Allegri.
