Massimiliano Allegri insists he is part of the solution to end Juventus‘ crisis and claims he didn’t meet club directors after tonight’s 2-1 loss to Benfica.

The Bianconeri have now lost the opening two Champions League group stage games for the first time in history with the current format.

Pressure is mounting on Allegri, who has only won two games from eight across all competitions. Juventus are four points behind Serie A leaders Milan, Napoli and Atalanta and six behind PSG and Benfica in the Champions League Group H.

The hashtag #Allegriout is trending on Twitter, with thousands of Juventus fans asking the club to sack him.

During a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia at the Allianz Stadium, Allegri said he hadn’t met club directors after tonight’s European loss.

He was also asked whether he felt part of the problem or the solution and replied: “I feel part of the solution, I must find a solution,” he said.

“When I returned, I thought it would take time to build. Unfortunately, I didn’t think we could lose two games in a row. The important thing is to do well and remain in the Champions League. These defeats are annoying, but it’s useless to talk too much now.”

Juventus director Maurizio Arrivabene raised concerns about Allegri’s future after an institutional lunch with Benfica directors today.

When a fan asked him to sack the coach in case of a defeat tonight, he replied: “Then you pay for who comes next?” During a pre-match interview with Prime Video Italia, Arrivabene clarified that he was only joking and that football should be taken more lightheartedly.

  1. Thats my boy. PhD Max knows he wins either way. Sack the legend of square back and he pockets full pay for another 2 years. Give him more time and the 7/9 will be the most famous zombified club to ever shame the CL. Now give the woman a lifetime contract and the keys to the city. She deserves it.

  2. We’ve got the Europa league trophy in the bag though. Tbf Allegri isn’t the problem, Agnellis cousin needs to kick him out of the Chairman seat and put someone else in who will replace Allegri

  3. In my humble opinion the players are not working comfortably under Max plans and instructions.
Max must change mentality or resign immediately.
