Juventus have confirmed that their English account on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, was hacked on Monday, leading to a series of unauthorised posts including a false announcement regarding the signing of Real Madrid talent Arda Güler. 

A series of unauthorised tweets on the Juventus-affiliated account @juventusfcen made their way online over the course of Monday. 

Several tweets were in Turkish, some made reference to Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, while the most ‘popular’ tweet of the day came in the form of a fake-annouincement regarding the signing of Turkey international Arda Guler.

Juventus confirm social media hack

Juventus, posting on their Italian language account, have since confirmed that they have been hacked. 

They have also informed supporters to ignore suspicious posts being published on their English account for the time being while the social media and IT team get to the bottom of the cyber attack.

“Our Juventus English account has been compromised. Please ignore the false information being published on this account. We are working on the issue,” Juventus wrote in an official statement on Monday afternoon.
