Juventus have officially confirmed their squad list for the newly-formatted 2024-25 edition of the Champions League.

There are few surprises in Thiago Motta’s selection. He has included all eight of his new summer signings in Teun Koopmeiners, Nico Gonzalez, Francisco Conceicao, Khephren Thuram, Douglas Luiz, Pierre Kalulu, Juan Cabal and Michele Di Gregorio.

Kenan Yildiz, who came through the Juventus Next Gen team, has been included on List B, rather than List A.

UEFA rules state that a maximum of 25 players can be included on the ‘A’ list. Eight of those must be ‘locally trained’, often referred to as ‘home grown’ and at least four must be ‘association trained’, ie. come through the club’s academy.

Clubs can name an unlimited number of players on their ‘B’ list, as long as they are born on or later than January 1, 2003, and as long as they have been on the club’s books for an uninterrupted period of two years.

That means that Next Gen graduates like Yildiz, Samuel Mbangula and Nicola Savona can be on the ‘B’ list, which provides more space for players on List A.
