Referee Michael Fabbri will reportedly be dropped after his controversial performance during Juventus’ 2-1 win against Milan on Saturday.

Fabbri came under fire for not awarding Milan a penalty, while neither the official nor VAR spotted Mario Mandzukic kick out at Alessio Romagnoli.

Consequently, La Repubblica expects the 35year-old to be dropped for the next two rounds of Serie A and not be assigned a Rossoneri match for the rest of the season.

It comes ahead of a meeting between Coaches, captains and referees at the offices of Lega Serie A on Monday morning.

Rosario Abisso was forced to sit out three games last month after he was similarly scrutinised for his performance in the fixture between Fiorentina and Inter.
