Juve management booed, Dybala in tears: what happened during Chiellini’s farewell

Paulo Dybala broke into tears and the Juventus management, including President Andrea Agnelli, were booed during Giorgio Chiellini’s farewell at the Allianz Stadium last night.

Both Chiellini and Dybala played their last home game in Turin yesterday, but the club had prepared something only for Chiellini. The Bianconeri captain was subbed off after 15 minutes and was saluted by his teammates and the Juventus Women’s team after the game. The club also showed a video of his highlights in a Juventus shirt, which Chiellini watched from the centre of the pitch with his daughters.

Dybala breaks down as he says goodbye to Juventus fans

The club never mentioned Dybala, but the Argentinean took centre stage anyway as he was seen breaking into tears in the middle of Chiellini’s farewell after he had signed autographs and taken selfies with fans. La Joya could not hide his emotions and went under the Curva Sud to salute his fans for the last time while Chiellini was waving fans.

He was accompanied by Leonardo Bonucci, who briefly spoke to Dybala while the Argentinean cried. Contrary to the club, Juventus fans didn’t ignore Dybala and continued to applaud him and shout his name. On the other hand, Maurizio Arrivabene, Pavel Nedved and Agnelli were booed every time they appeared on the stadium’s screen. It was the first time that a considerable part of fans openly criticised the President and his closest collaborators in the last decade.
