Paulo Dybala broke into tears and the Juventus management, including President Andrea Agnelli, were booed during Giorgio Chiellini’s farewell at the Allianz Stadium last night.

Both Chiellini and Dybala played their last home game in Turin yesterday, but the club had prepared something only for Chiellini. The Bianconeri captain was subbed off after 15 minutes and was saluted by his teammates and the Juventus Women’s team after the game. The club also showed a video of his highlights in a Juventus shirt, which Chiellini watched from the centre of the pitch with his daughters.

Dybala breaks down as he says goodbye to Juventus fans

The club never mentioned Dybala, but the Argentinean took centre stage anyway as he was seen breaking into tears in the middle of Chiellini’s farewell after he had signed autographs and taken selfies with fans. La Joya could not hide his emotions and went under the Curva Sud to salute his fans for the last time while Chiellini was waving fans.

He was accompanied by Leonardo Bonucci, who briefly spoke to Dybala while the Argentinean cried. Contrary to the club, Juventus fans didn’t ignore Dybala and continued to applaud him and shout his name. On the other hand, Maurizio Arrivabene, Pavel Nedved and Agnelli were booed every time they appeared on the stadium’s screen. It was the first time that a considerable part of fans openly criticised the President and his closest collaborators in the last decade.

  1. If he really love juve, he should take 6 or 7 mil plus bonus offer .too loyal with his amateur agent instead.

  2. The way Agnelli and his entourage handled Dybala’s farewell was just plain awful. Dybala has been one of “our” best players, juventino to the core, loyal, a great addition to the squad. Sure, he was injured a lot and could have done better at times, but he always acted like a true professional. I get it: Some fans take all the rumors at face value when in fact he never said a bad word about the club. It’s only right to negotiate a better salary, why wouldn’t he? And then, all of sudden, they drop him like a hot potato without giving him a proper farewell. They could have renegotiated his salary, and I’m pretty sure he would’ve stayed. Shameful, really.

  3. I don’t have an issue with how our management handled the Dybala situation. Paulo and his agent were trying to play the club like a fool while Dybala’s stats suggested he should’ve taken less money than the $10mm per season we offered.

Why I believe this management deserves their criticisms is they way they completely fumbled the transition years ago by signing useless players to contracts we can’t move, or selling quality players we should’ve kept. Think Rabiot, Ramsey, Arthur, Manzjukic, Pjanic, Khedira, Higuain etc etc. Ive still got some love for Agnelli but Nedved needs to go.

  4. Could not agree more with you Romanzo1897. Juve’s management is acting pathetic. First you negotiate a deal with Dybala, then you change your mind and don’t even give him a proper farewell…What is wrong with you?!? Dybala is among Juventus all time top 10 scorers and this accomplishment does not guarantee even a farewell?!?! Really?! Agnelli did a lot of great things since we last finished 7th…..but lately he seems completely lost…Sarri, Pirlo, bringing Alegri back …Why you sacked him in the firs place then? Sadly Juve has lost direction…

  5. Message to Ringo: I agree with you. Kean could really become a very good player. He needs to have trust in him but he also needs to step up as well and really want to improve. He should take the example of Roby Baggio.

  6. CALMAAAAAAA!!! Next season PhD Max will find his baby formula and Juventus are going to conquer everybody, home and abroad with the perfected art of the “Feng Shui”, back, back, down, down. This will be accomplished with the project to build back older, slower and wiser. Grande Maestro, in PhD Max we do not trust lol.

  7. Dybala in tears made me feel sad, but Juve did offer him a contract more than 2 times, so if the player didn’t sign it, then the club has to move on. if Dybala really love Juve that much, he would have signed long ago. ask his agent.

  8. @Juvenit: please stop being delusional and read what your directors said! They did NOT offer him a contract any more, it was just a fake promise to win more time and spend the money on Vlahovic and his agents. Pathetic attitude, reminds me of how Del Piero was treated. Not surprised though!
