Juventus are holding on to sign Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan in spite of Manchester City's competition.
The Bianconeri have set their eyes on the 25-year-old midfielder, but were dismayed when reports from the English Press stated that the Citizens had already finalised a deal.
Fortunately for Juventus, the player's agent denied these claims.
“It's not true, everything is still open,” the agent told Bild. “Now the player is focused exclusively on his recovery.”

Juventus are therefore still in the race for the midfielder, though sporting director Beppe Marotta is considering back-up alternatives. These include Zenit St Petersburg's Axel Witsel, Sevilla's Ever Banega and Gregorz Krychowiak, and Monaco's João Moutinho.
