La Joya had been on the market during the summer, with talks breaking down for moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

He ended up staying in Turin and is now their top scorer for this season, prompting a complete change of approach.

Now Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and more claim the initial proposal has been made for a contract to June 2024, worth €9m per year net plus performance-related bonuses.

This is not far off Dybala’s demands, which are believed to be €10m net per year plus bonuses.

The 26-year-old has seven goals and four assists in 17 competitive games so far this term and his contract currently runs to June 2022.

He was purchased from Palermo in 2015 for €40m.
