Pavel Nedved has slammed the Juventus players for their campaign, while also denying claims of a meeting with Roberto Mancini.

The Turin giants have had a problematic season and yesterday's 1-0 loss at Parma may have compromised a place in next season's Europa League.

"The team have gone missing," he said on Monday. "We made ourselves heard in the newspapers more than on the field of play.

"We weren't lacking just a bit of character, but all of it.

"The new players haven't understood what it means to play in this shirt, while the older players have forgotten.

"The anger that we are feeling is normal because the results have been very disappointing. Now we have to work on the future."

Nedved, a former Golden Ball winner with the club who is now part of the board in Turin, also rejected rumours that he recently met with Man City boss Mancini about a Turin switch.

"I wasn't involved in any talks," the Czech added. "Let's say that Gigi Del Neri is the Juventus boss for now. I don't know what decisions the club will then take.

"Judgements will be made at the end of the campaign. There is still one game to go and I don't think Juventus want to drop another three points."

Siena today seemed to open the door for Antonio Conte to boss the Old Lady next term, a man Nedved respects.

"It is in Conte's destiny to become the Coach of Juventus," Nedved added. "He was a great player, a leader who we could all rely on when we played together."
