Emiliano Viviano believes Federico La Penna made correct decisions in Juve-Fiorentina: ‘It was fair not to award Juventus two penalty kicks.'
Viviano, a former Fiorentina and Sampdoria goalkeeper, spoke to Lady Radio to comment on La Viola’s 3-0 away win at Juventus.
“Fiorentina really needed it, we had already seen some improvements in the last few games, but it’s tough when the results are not there,” Viviano said.
“A game like this can give enthusiasm, I was lucky enough to win four or five games against Juventus during my career,” he added.
“Surely, Fiorentina deserve to be in that position in the Serie A table, but this win can be a turning point.”
Speaking about the refereeing of Federico La Penna, who could sit out week 15 after some controversial decisions during the Allianz Stadium clash, Viviano said: “I’ve always been honest. [Juan] Cuadrado deserved to be sent off for that tackle and I don’t think [Borja] Valero deserved a red card. He committed two fouls in 90 minutes. Also, I think it was fair not to award Juventus those two penalties," he concluded.
